Disney Channel My School Rocks 2011

Be a part the Interschool Dance-Off in 2011 - SIGN UP NOW!!

My School Rocks! (MSR 2011) is back for the fourth time! Bringing you the best creative performances from Malaysia's young and talented students! MSR 2011 represents a tremendous opportunity for students to develop their skills in dance and choreography.

Disney Channel is now calling for entries - register your school teams now atwww.disneychannel-asia.com or call 03-2785 2177 for more information. Teams are categorized according to Primary (ages 7-12 years ) and Secondary (ages 13-17 years) levels.

Send in your entries between 23 March to 20 May 2011 to be part of this amazing nationwide dance competition. So hurry, gather your teams now!

Bigger and better than before, MSR 2011 auditions will now be held in five locations and participants can select over a hundred songs from Disney Channel franchises like Camp Rock, High School Musical, Hannah Montana, Wizards of Waverly Place, Phineas and Ferb, Shake It Up and JONAS LA !

The first 120 schools that confirm participation for the auditions will have an opportunity to have personalized workshop sessions in their schools to help them polish their choreography!

Auditions are open to students in all schools in Malaysia. The competition allows 2 teams per school, and each team must have 3 to 8 students.

Audition dates and venues :

25 June @ PERAK - St. John's Ambulance Hall, Ipoh.

2 July @ PULAU PINANG - Tunku Abdul Rahman College (TARC)

8-10 July @ KLANG VALLEY - Plenary Hall, Putrajaya International Cenvention Centre (PICC)

16 July @ JOHOR BAHRU - Kompleks Mawar

23 July @ KOTA KINABALU - Sabah Recital Hall, Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS)

Two top teams from each auditon - one for each category - will be selected and their audition videos posted online for public voting. Public voting will account for 50% of each team's points while the remaining 50% will be determined by the judges who will award points based on choreography, showmanship, props and costumes, teamwork and sportsmanship and dance concept.

The winner of MSR 2011 (Primary and Secondary level) will be announced on 31st August 2011. The Grand Prize winners will win a 3-days, 2-nights stay at Hong Kong Disneyland, a trophy and certificate, while best Primary and Secondary teams for each state will win a trophy, musical instruments and Disney goodie bags.
